Ready, Set, Health Transitions Guide
PAIN POINTS
Adolescents aged 18-25 are often overlooked when it comes to taking charge of their healthcare. By the age of 26, most are kicked off their parents' health insurance with little to no information on how to move forward.

Good luck reading through hundreds of sterile documents to find out what "deductible" and "copay" mean, only to find out your provider doesn't accept your insurance. School certainly doesn't teach us these vital life skills (although it should). Thus, leaving most adolescents feeling scared and insecure about how to take care of their health.

GOALS
The goal of this project was to help young adults transition into the next step of adulthood by giving them resources on how to manage their healthcare.

Made for Immunize Nevada and NDHHS (Nevada Department of Health & Human Services), this guide was created to help adolescents transition into the next step of adulthood: managing their healthcare.

The big idea of this project was to allow young adults to "take control of their health" by diving into topics such as what insurance is, how to make an appointment, and things to address when attending appointments.

OUTCOMES & RESULTS
• 85% increase in healthcare member education for adolescents aged 18-25

DESIGN STRATEGY
I designed this guide with adolescents in mind, aiming to make it both functional and easy to read. To avoid the sterile feel of traditional healthcare documents, I chose a vibrant color palette that was visually engaging.

One of my favorite features is "Stanley the Computer," a smiley-face character I created. Stanley appears throughout the guide, offering helpful tips and tricks through text bubbles.

This unique touch not only makes the content more relatable but also takes readers on a journey. By the end, they feel more confident in managing their healthcare, with Stanley as their supportive guide.
